6/30/06 - New way to support OrtOrt.com

Recently, while going through my adsense account, I came across a new referral program that looked interesting. Google has a pack of software that they group together called "The Google Pack.". It is a collection of software that is supposed to make your computer experience more enjoyable. Although I disagree with some of their choices, and actually suggest others that they do not include, I felt it was worth sharing with the rest of the world.

To help support this website, simply download the file by following the link below and choose those files that you really do want to install while going through the wizard. Although I can't vouch for all the software in the pack, I HIGHLY suggest several of them:

6/29/06 - Quizno's Fork

Well, I decided that I wanted a salad for lunch this afternoon and Quizno's happened to be on my way back from the doctor's office. Although I had never had a salad from Quizno's before, I have recently seen the advertisements for their flatbread salads. I do believe that in those ads, they mention something along the lines of finally eating a salad with a real fork. Well, I had no idea what they were referring to until I opened up my bag of food back at the office. Most places (at least every place I've ever eaten it) provide you with a plastic knife, fork, spoon or spork based on your order. Quizno's took that a step further, and I got a full blown metal fork with my meal. It was wrapped exactly like any other plasticware I've ever gotten, with the exception of it being made of metal. I'm not going to say that this fork is top of the line flatware, but it's good enough that I'm going to wash it and use it again.

So for anyone out there looking for new silverware, just head up to your local Quizno's and order a few of these salads.

6/26/06 - Just a blog (can't believe I said blog) entry

So I'm sick and tired of Conway Corp. I don't feel like going into the details, but from my understanding, it looks like the signal I'm receiving for internet has diminished since this new apartment complex opened up. Now I get knocked off every once in a while, the speed isn't as fast, and I can't hook up a splitter to the line which means neither of the TV's in the office get cable to them.

I got back from AWANA Scholarship Camp at Bogg Springs yesterday, so I'll be having a few more pictures online in the very near future (hopefully by the end of the week). I've got a little over 2200 pictures to choose from, so it might take a while to pull out the cream of the crop. I didn't take all those, it was a collaboration of about 10 different cameras.

So I'm getting into MySpace and Facebook pretty hot and heavy now simply because I've got a few new friends (all from camp) who have MySpace and/or Facebook pages and what a better way to keep up to date with people than through this crazy thing they call the World Wide Web. For those interested, my MySpace account can be found under my email address of GravyTrain6 (at) gmail (dot) com, and of course my name on there is DJ Walker. I'm going to try to talk my wife into getting a MySpace account too, just because I think everyone in the world has one, and it would be a good way for her to try to keep in touch with some of her friends. I'm also trying to figure out how to get her on Facebook even though she just graduated from UAMS and Facebook doesn't support Uams emails or ACH email addresses. They do accept OBU, but we can't figure out how to check her email which is necessary to open a Facebook account.

I can't think of anything else right now, remember to go check out the Vegas pictures now that I've got them up.

6/8/06 - VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!!

From 5/29/2006 to 6/2/2006 my wife and I spent our time in Las Vegas. I'm running out of time this evening to update with all 700+ pictures that we took, plus roughly 10 short movies, so I'm going to have to put it off for another night. Of course, we won't be putting all 700 pictures, but I think we have narrowed it down to around 150 or so that were worth putting on here. Hopefully they will be up by this weekend, until then, I'll leave you with 3 that we really liked.

Of course, there are many pictures that I posted the first time around. If you would like to see this pictures reposted, just let me know, I'll put them up, just leave a comment.

6/7/06 - Cristi Graduated!!!!!!

On 5/20/2006, Cristi, my wonderful wife graduated from UAMS with her BSN. She worked really hard for a really long time and she earned it. She just got her temporary license today and she scheduled to take the NCLEX next Thursday. She passed the HESI with flying colors, 1089 when she only had to have an 850 to pass. I've included several pictures from the ceremony, and I'll have some links for a few videos and a zipped file with ALL the pictures we have if you want to see all of them. I can say enough how proud I am of all the hard work she's put in. She starts June 26th as an RN in the Emergency Room at Chrildren's Hospital. I'm most excited about about it because I will get to see her on the weekends and at night during the week, neither of which we've been able to do in over a year. We've already got plans to go camping several times, take a trip to Branson, Eureka Springs and several other places for some quick weekend getaways.

Leave a comment if you would like to see the pictures from this post.

6/6/06 - Cristi's Accident

On 5/16/2006, Cristi had a car accident and she's fine. You can see the damage done to her car in the pictures below.

I can't begin to describe how much of a headache it's been for the both of us. First of all, the driver of the truck did not have insurance of his CDL. Because of this, our insurance has to pay for everything and anything above and beyond our insurance coverage comes out of our pockets. For this reason alone, i was very intersted in suing the trucking company (Vaughn Farms if you are interested) to pay for the mileage we had to put on the new Tahoe because of the lack of a vehicle, cost of a rental car (over what our insurance covers) and just the hassle they caused. I tried contacting two lawyers, neither of them called me back, I gave Marcus Vaden a week to call me back and then called Bush and Rasmussen. After a week, I called them back and FINALLY talked to someone today. They informed me that they only dealt with personal injury cases so I was not eligible to be a client. If anyone has any information or suggestions on how to go about suing this company, please let me know. Other than that, I could spend several pages writing about how I have lost all hope that other people can take care of things without constantly harrasing them with phone calls and other means of communication.

If you've got any more questions or just want to hear more about it...or...if you have information on how to get a hold of a good lawyer, I'm all ears (or eyes), just send me an email.
